OOTD: The Fuzzy Fad

No I am not wearing a bathrobe.

…but it sure does feel like one! You know the days when you wake up in the morning to frost on the window, fat flakes of snow falling from the sky, and blankets wrapping you in a cocoon? The outside mirrors a crisp, white piece of paper and on the inside your bed mirrors a warm, exotic island complete with endless palm trees (pillows) and a cool ocean mist (the humidifier in the corner). In this moment everything seems perfect. Everything would stay perfect, too, if you didn’t have to get out of bed, step into the frigid, winter air, clean the snow off of your car, and trudge through the icy parking lots in order to make it to that 9am class on time. Oh how I sure do miss snow days.

In order to face these miserable, freezing mornings it is essential to dress warmly. This is where the “teddy bear coat” becomes a handy fashion staple that will leave you wondering how you ever survived without it. The “teddy bear coat” is exactly like it sounds, encompassing the soft, plush fabric of a teddy bear but in the shape of a coat. My example (pictured below) has a comfy hood and elastic wrist bands to keep the cold from creeping up my skin. This coat has suddenly become one of the most useful fashion trends being shown now and, trust me, you won’t want to skip out. Like I said, this coat is similar to that of a bathrobe and who wouldn’t want to stay in their bathrobe all day long? I snagged the coat I am wearing here from Plato’s Closet for only $16.00 and it was originally from American Eagle. If you are interested in jumping on the fuzzy fad too, check out these great examples:
